Design That Moves! Literally & Strategically.

Hey, I'm Mick, a Senior Motion Designer with 15+ years of turning ideas into motion that performs. Along the way I've led UA campaigns for Disney and LEGO, and shaped brand work for Nestlé and RBC. I even got to work on a Google Doodle for Google, which is still one of my favorite credits. I think like a marketer and create like an artist, so the work I make doesn't just look good, it actually delivers.

A Motion Designer Who Delivers, Not Just Designs.

Fifteen-plus years in, I've learned the real value isn't doing it all, it's knowing what actually needs doing. I bring 2D and 3D animation, sharp design instincts, strategic editing, and real marketing know-how to every project, and I use that range to make the right calls fast so teams can move quicker without second-guessing the work. The result is visuals that resonate and convert.

Video Game Trailers & Marketing Content at Gameloft Toronto

At Gameloft Toronto, I led 3D motion and generalist work on marketing content for Disney Magic Kingdoms and LEGO Legacy, brands I'd grown up with. I owned the full range: launch trailers, event promos, UA ads, and in-game visuals, each built to hit a specific goal, from driving hype for an update to acquiring new players.

I'd start by assessing our assets and mapping the most efficient production path, since planning upfront saved a lot of rework down the line. From there, game captures, artwork, and CGI moved into Blender or Cinema 4D for scene staging and camera work, then into After Effects for compositing and polish, and finally Premiere for full trailers, social cutdowns, and evergreen content.

Working alongside people who cared about the craft as much as I did made every asset better, and made the work genuinely fun to show up for. Here's a sample of that work in action, from update trailers to UA ads built to drive installs.

2D & 3D Motion Design Wizardry

Animation has always been in my DNA. From the magic of Saturday morning cartoons to the work I create today, that love for movement, storytelling, and visual rhythm has only grown stronger.

I've built a deep foundation in 2D motion design, refining a workflow that's both efficient and flexible. Whether it's a high-energy animated spot or a clear, engaging explainer, I approach every project with precision, creativity, and care.

I'm just as comfortable in 3D: product renders, simulations, lighting, texturing. I bring a strong technical toolkit and a sharp design eye to every frame, across commercial campaigns, branded content, and instructional media, and I thrive on solving creative problems at every stage of the pipeline.

Bringing the Steel Pan to Life with Google

One of my proudest projects was animating a Google Doodle celebrating Trinidad and Tobago's national instrument, the steel pan. I worked alongside Nicholas Huggins, who created the illustrations, and Etienne Charles, who composed the music, and I brought the motion, giving the story rhythm and flow. Sharing a piece of my culture with the world is still one of my favorite credits.

To bring the concept to life, we combined 3D design, digital image editing, and AI-assisted tools to craft visuals that felt bold, immersive, and perfectly tailored to the massive format.

My 2025 Calgary Stampede billboard, created in collaboration with Pattison Outdoor Advertising, C&B Advertising, and the Calgary Stampede team, took home the win. Digital billboards have been part of my career from the very start, and there's something I still love about working with a team to grab an audience's attention on that scale.
